This footage was taken over a year ago when traveling to Goroka from Mt Hagen on a PMV (Public Motor Vehicle) on the Highlands Highway. It is missing a few things like people chewing betel nut and spitting, smoking, being stopped to pay road tax (someone else did), and the amazing scenery. I had fun making this video and one scene made me laugh a lot. But overall I hope it gives some insight what it is like traveling for people by road in PNG, if there is a road.

Thanks, must have been Ayrton Senna behind the wheel.

Having driven the road seeing those washaways brought back memories. We were following a petrol tanker and it went around a corner out of sight. We rounded the corner and although it was a long straight ahead the tanker had gone. It had gone alright, over the edge. The driver survived and ran away. I am sure you will understand that we didnt wait around.
